וְדָוִד֩ בֶּן־אִ֨ישׁ אֶפְרָתִ֜י הַזֶּ֗ה מִבֵּ֥ית לֶ֙חֶם֙ יְהוּדָ֔ה וּשְׁמ֣וֹ יִשַׁ֔י וְל֖וֹ שְׁמֹנָ֣ה בָנִ֑ים וְהָאִישׁ֙ בִּימֵ֣י שָׁא֔וּל זָקֵ֖ן בָּ֥א בַאֲנָשִֽׁים׃

Nun war David der Sohn dieses Ephrathiters von Beth-Lehem in Juda, dessen Name Jesse war; und er hatte acht Söhne; und der Mann war ein alter Mann in den Tagen Sauls, in Jahren unter Männern geschlagen.
